What better way to cheer yourself up than to scrounge the aisles of your local Boots & Superdrug for the latest beauty bargains? For me, Make Up Revolution continues to blow my mind every time I pass their concession. So. Much. Pretty. And. So. Damn. Cheap! I challenge you to pay them a visit and not leave the shop with 3 bags full of goodies and an entire arm’s worth of swatches.
The first thing I picked up was the Pro Fix Illuminating Fixing Spray, as memory serves, I think this was about a fiver yet the packaging looks super luxe. This spray is so refreshing and I have really seen a difference in the longevity of my base make up since picking up this nifty little bottle. I’ll admit with the past week’s sweltering hot weather here in the UK, perhaps this hasn’t been the best time to test this little guy, but lemme tell you it has seriously impressed me so far!
Next I gravitated towards the Make Up Revolution ever-so-shiny baked highlighters. I think these have become somewhat of a cult product, and I certainly swear by these £3 beauties! On this particular day I added 2 more to my collection, in the shades Golden Lights, a gorgeous pale shimmer with flecks of gold sparkle, and Gold Addict, a deeper bronze shade perfect for adding a gorgeous, sunkissed glow!
I finally got my mitts on one of the I Heart Make Up chocolate bar palettes, these are also well known and loved within the blogging community for being a pretty close match to the Too Faced palettes, both in packaging and in shade range. The palette I opted for is called Golden Bar, and offers 16 highly pigmented shades in neutrals with gorgeous gold, copper and taupe shimmers!
The original point of this little haul was to find the perfect, affordable lipstick in a your-lips-but-better shade, and that is where this wee Barry M beauty comes in! In shade 173, this product is slightly darker than I originally set out looking for, but I fell head over heels for this gorgeous glossy berry colour, which I’m pretty sure is one of those shades that will suit every skin tone, but I think it looks especially eye-catching with porcelain skin like my own.
Lastly, I swung through Debenhams to pick up another travel-sized Urban Decay Primer Potion, which set me back a mere £8 and will last me aaaages! I swear by this little tube of goodness. It has been keeping my eye make up in check for many years, and I doubt I’ll be swayed away from it any time soon!
Thank you so much for reading this post! Hope you are all having a fantastic day!
Let me know your latest affordable beauty finds in the comments; I’d love to hear about them!
